Temple Owls (5-3, 3-2 MAC), under first-year coach Steve Addazio, holds a half game lead over Ohio and Miami of Ohio in the division but has played one more game than those two. The Owls enter off a 13-10 loss to Bowling Green on Nov. 22. Temple has one of the MAC’s best players in running back Bernard Pierce, but he has been dealing with a hamstring injury and unable to practice. He did gut it out vs. BGSU, rushing for 117 yards and a TD and says he will play Wednesday. Pierce leads the nation with 18 rushing touchdowns. He also ranks second in scoring (13.50 points per game) and 10th in rushing (118.88 yards per game). Left tackle Pat Boyle, who left the Bowling Green game with an undisclosed injury, is expected to play Wednesday as well.

Ohio Bobcats (5-3, 2-2) ended a two-game losing streak last time out, beating Akron 37-20 on Oct. 22. Quarterback Tyler Tettleton has thrown for 200 yards or more in each of the last six weeks and against Akron he threw for 328 yards. The Bobcats rank second in the MAC in both total offense (450.2) and second in total defense (321.1). And Ohio could be unbeaten: in its three losses, it has fallen by an average of 5.3 ppg.

Ohio leads this all-time series 3-1 and won in Philadelphia 31-23 last season despite being outgained by 120 yards.
